Big Sur

I just spend an awesome weekend with Melody. I wish I could be back there with her. Wishing her the best on her finals. The weekend kicked off with a camping in Big Sur, one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. I love the coast and nature.

I tried to document our car trip there, but there were a few minor issues along the way. First of all, I didn’t know that the 5D wasn’t supported by my gorrillapod, my 40D was. And second, this was my first time trying to make a timelapse. I think it came out pretty well.

This is our campsite, which was our home away from home for two nights.  We arrived early for a relaxing night, which would have been perfect if the weather wasn’t so dreary, no stars tonight.

Dinner for champions, started off with a couple of Coronas and lime.  Then we had difficulty starting a fire to cook our food – seemed to take about a hour to start.  Melody prepared some deliciously seasoned salmon, while I tried to make some potatoes and peppers that were up to par.

We set off to Julie Pfeiffer beach, which proved to be an amazing view with all the fog. The views were so desolate and serene, ironic I know.

Wildflowers were everywhere, and these were the prettiest in my opinion.  Melody really loved the purple ones named “Tower of Jewels.”  We assumed that it was called that because of our Guide to Big Sur, but who knows what it really is.

Here is a beautiful view of Big Sur on our way out.  The days there were extremely foggy, we were fortunate enough to be able to see this when we were leaving.  One of the most popular beaches on the Big Sur coastline, Sand Dollar Beach, was desolate.  It was nice to be away from all the crowds, the pollution, and stress of every day life.

And last but not least, a picture of Me and Melody.  This was on the way back from the tour at Hearst Castle.
