Strobist Weekend

This weekend I decided to work on some flash photography. It’s good to practice a little just in case the opportunity arises for yourself. Well here is a picture I took yesterday of my dad, playing around with two flashes. I hope to get some more pictures of people up later.

And I wanted to accent my dad’s eyes, since they are pretty different from the typical dark eyes of many asians. But I couldn’t quite get the the effect I wanted.

Today, Yvonne came over and she wanted to learn a little about flash photography. We setup some likes for a little experimenting with water. The pouring was subpar, on my behalf, but overall I am happy with what I can setup. Here is a typical shot of a “wine” glass, even though I think it is a champagne glass.

And then came the water dropping experiment. Not the easiest thing to do if you are trying to time a drop that is coming off someone’s hand.

Yvonne’s ring that we tried to get a drop inside of, but failed immensely.
