Taroko Gorge

January 7, 2010

Taroko Gorge recently was devastated by an earthquake which resulted in this gray water, natural water would be a turqoise blue. We walked across many beautiful sites but still didn’t see all that Taroko has to offer. The journey has left me wanting a little more, and hopefully another visit to Taiwan.

Yosemite – Glacier Point

August 23, 2009

So I forgot to update my panorama picture that I took last week. There were so many views of the Valley that were breathtaking, but this one was specially interesting due to the fact that we were able to see the distance we covered the previous day. I hope I will be able to visit another day, and try to visit all these parks in the future – the national parks of the United States.

Yosemite – Half Dome

August 13, 2009

Half Dome is a 16 mile hike round trip which is described as an extremely strenuous hike. Hikers are usually suppose to eat twice as much in a day and consume atleast 3 liters of water. We were a little unprepared for this hike, with me only taking a liter nalgene but we did have enough food. The beginning is an easy hike up to Vernal falls, which is a beauty from far away.

Yosemite – Mirror Lake

August 12, 2009

So as we headed back to Melody’s home in Yorba Linda, we are soon turned to a new destination of Yosemite. There have been many fires recently in the park, so the sky has not been treating the views kindly. Instead haze is spread around, reducing the view to become not so ideal. Well, here is the view of Yosemite Valley right outside of the tunnel – known as tunnel view.

Zion National Park

August 8, 2009

Yesterday was a day full of hiking, and this means three trails totaling in roughly 12 miles. Melody and I decided to hike the first route which would connect the bottom half with the top – the emerald pools trails. It was a bit disappointing with the name indicating a more amazing view, but was still worth it at the top emerald pool. This is a picture of us looking up 300 feet at the top of the falls.

So today, our destination was Zion National Park, but we were suprised by a new park that housed the Kolob Canyon. It is amazing how these canyons are formed and the true beauty of them.

This weekend Melody and I were on a trip to the Appalachian mountain range in the Smoky Mountain National Park. We decided to hike the Appalachian Trail, toward the Charlie Bunion overlook. Here is Melody on the way to the overlook, all excited.

Big Sur

May 6, 2009

I just spend an awesome weekend with Melody. I wish I could be back there with her. Wishing her the best on her finals. The weekend kicked off with a camping in Big Sur, one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. I love the coast and nature.
