GT vs UNC-Wilmington

March 10, 2010

I was able to shoot one tennis match this weekend, which was a battle between Georgia Tech and University of North Carolina Wilmington. This allowed me to shoot the doubles match between Georgia Tech’s Kevin King and Juan Spir and UNC Wilmington’s Kinshuk Sharma and Max Ando Hirsh. This doubles match ended with Georgia Tech defeating UNC Wilmington 8-6. First picture shows the setup for doubles, with Juan Spir in front and Kevin King in the back.

Yellow Jacket Open

March 8, 2010

Georgia Tech hosted a USFA event called the Yellow Jacket Open to attract participants to compete against each other. It is actually pretty addicting to watch, and looks like a lot of fun to fence also. I watched an event called foil, which involves only a no sleeve vest and a button sword for points. Here are some photos I came up with. First one was just to stop motion, but the background was a little too busy so I though I should add some blur to single out the subject.

GT vs Virginia Tech

March 8, 2010

Georgia Tech had a must win to boost their moral before the ACC tournament, and possibly the NCAA tournament if they are lucky. This was despite the 18 point effort by both Georgia Tech forward Gani Lawal and Georgia Tech center Derrick Favors. Georgia Tech lost with a final score of 88-82.

Alice in Chains was performing at the Tabernacle on Thursday, February 25, 2010 with a second show the following day. I was excited because a pretty big name was coming in town and I frequent the Tabernacle for reviews now.

The Variety Playhouse is a wonderful venue if you love light shows and music. It is one of my favorite places to take pictures since the lighting is one of the best that I have been to.

The Tabernacle usually hosts mostly alternative rock bands, but there comes a time when a real gem comes into the venue, and that’s when I discovered B.O.B. aka Bobby Ray. He opened for Goodie Mob, but I was just swept by both his performance and music. It is highly recommended if you really like rap that is really from the heart, somewhat like Lupe Fiasco. Well I can’t really explain much about it, but the lyrics are true to heart, not trash like the top 40 songs you hear on the radio.

GT vs Alabama

February 21, 2010

Georgia Tech lacrosse moves to 4-0 with a win over Alabama with a score of 13-6. This was my first ever lacrosse game and I was pretty excited to see how much action there was. I would say that the game would be a combination of both basketball and soccer. It is actually a pretty intense game, and very physical.

#19 GT vs. #4 Duke

February 21, 2010

The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team had a day to support the efforts to prevent and cure breast cancer with their pink jerseys. I thought this would be a good opportunity to get some interesting photos. Well I had a busy day already and only was able to shoot the second half of the game. But it was an exciting one, with Georgia Tech in the lead for a few minutes before losing 64-50 against #4 Duke.

GT vs. Missouri State

February 21, 2010

I was able to attend the Georgia Tech baseball season opener on Friday, but wasn’t able to stay as long as I wanted. I want to try to stay for a whole game to work on creating some nicer images this season. Well here is what I came up with for the few innings that I stayed.
