The other day I had an urge to take some pictures around Atlanta. I know I won’t be around soon so I decided to to get some keepsakes for the future.

March 1, 2010Taroko Gorge
January 7, 2010Taroko Gorge recently was devastated by an earthquake which resulted in this gray water, natural water would be a turqoise blue. We walked across many beautiful sites but still didn’t see all that Taroko has to offer. The journey has left me wanting a little more, and hopefully another visit to Taiwan.

Bali Bellies!
January 6, 2010Welcome to Bali! We were fit like royalty as we walked into our Bali resort, Nikko Bali.

Taizhong and Taipei
January 2, 2010My family, Melody, and I rode on the Taiwan high speed rail, which was a first for me, to Taizhong. I thought it was cool that you could get to such a far place in half or less the time it takes on regular train. Last time we visited the rail was just about to open.

Jiu Fen
January 1, 2010Jiu Fen is a little mining town that hosts stores and food carts. It was a great contrast to the city life that we were partaking in, with a little alley way as it’s main attraction.

Journeys Around Ximen
December 30, 2009Melody had a plan to visit one of her best friends in California, Sammy, at Ximen. So we had a plan to be around that area to still venture around Taiwan as well as be able to fulfill Melody’s request. So we headed off to Long Shan Temple in Taipei. This temple helps answer visitor’s questions with a fortune like message. But instead it relies on praying and chance.

Xin Dian
December 29, 2009Another visit around to remember my grandparents brought us around Xin Dian, Taiwan. As my parents were busy, my brother and I went to the rope bridge in Xin Dian. I thought it was pretty cool, which may have been a little busier and prettier at night. But overall I was glad to see that there was so much Taiwan has to offer in such a small area.

Better Days Await.
December 29, 2009This is a post for the remembrance of my grandmother. One of the main purposes for my trip to Taiwan was to visit her and show her that all was well. It was a tragedy to be informed a week before our trip there that she had passed. I haven’t had a very personal relationship with her recently, although she was a major part of my childhood. I am glad to see that there are so many that care for her, with such an elaborate ceremony.

Lake Tahoe
December 27, 2009I had another wonderful vacation with the Tsai family; the destination this time was Lake Tahoe. We had to drive around 10 hours to get to our final destination of David Walley’s Hot Springs resort.

El Matador
December 15, 2009I am back in Los Angeles to meet up with my girlfriend for a long vacation together. We started off with a vow to try to only cook this week.
