Another big game for the ACC with Georgia Tech going up against Clemson in Atlanta, Georgia at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum. I recently received a motor cord for my pocket wizards and really wanted to test out the remote functionality. I got some pretty cool shots and different angles that makes this post slightly more interesting. My remote was setup to be perpendicular to the plane of the backboard. My first shot was a rebound recovery from Georgia Tech forwards Derrick Favors and Gani Lawal.

Georgia Tech received their first major bowl bid in 40 years with their 39-34 win over Clemson in the ACC championship game. This win gives Georgia Tech their first championship victory since 1990 and a berth in the Orange Bowl.

We arrived in Tampa at around 4 pm after leaving at 8:30 am from Atlanta. We arrived to an empty stadium, which gave me a good opportunity to get a wide shot of the stadium. It was simply amazing to see the Georgia Tech and Clemson painted onto a field with ACC championship game at the 50 yard line.

As I was still up at the top, I was enjoying the view of the crowd bustling into the stadium.

Next, I had to get ready to shoot some of the players warming up. I saw a group of players getting ready to exit onto the field. The fans were going wild with excitement awaiting the game to come.

The pregame show was anything but ordinary. They lugged out a huge American flag for the audience to see.

Also parachuters were deployed from above, three to be exact, in order to land on the field. This was a truly amazing experience to see the precision that these individuals have, and their expertise at work.

CJ Spiller, Clemson’s running back came out with a bang. He was a force to be reckoned with.

He ended the day with 234 yards on the ground and 4 touchdowns. What an amazing performance for the MVP at the ACC championship game.

I thought this series was cool, with Demariyus Thomas dominating the defense with his physicality.

Came out weird for me. I just don’t like the image of him and his stretched out jersey that much.

With Josh Nesbitt trying to become a more versatile quarterback, his secondary receiver Stephen Hill attempts to gain extra yardage on a quick pass.

Penalties were plaguing both sides of the field when they needed it most. Here was a penalty on Clemson that wasn’t beneficial to them.

Josh Nesbitt’s third down touchdown run celebrated with A-Back Roddy Jones. Nesbitt ended the day with 103 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.

A crazy 70 yard pass to Demariyus Thomas ended in a touchdown. With one on one coverage, Thomas is nearly impossible to stop.

A potential upsetter, the ball was out of the reach of Clemson receiver Jacoby Ford.

The run that sealed the victory was Jonathan Dwyer’s 15 yard touchdown run.

Josh Nesbitt’s supposedly failed two point conversion attempt.

And the rest is the ensuing celebration for making it into their first BCS bowl, the orange bowl.

The first time shooting a new sport is always exciting because you are learning new things, seeing new things, and doing new things. I was pumped up to have a good outing, and I think I lived up to my own expectation. It is tradition at the beginning of every game that the Ramblin’ Wreck come out before the team, and here she is.

Every first Thursday game we have a white out. The crowd was amazing, creating a stadium bright with white.

The second touchdown of the game came off of a kick return, which was very surprising since I just moved to this position a few minutes earlier. I got extremely lucky on this shot.

I thought the game would be over, after a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. And an interception to top it off? I didn’t know that it would have ended up being such a close game.

Nesbitt was 2-4 but he threw two picks at very inopportune moments. This shows his lack of form while throwing.

The Clemson comeback was lead by their running back and quarterback. The freshman quarterback surprised us all showing senior poise and accuracy.

An example of a perfect throw to their wideout, which was overturned due to a holding penalty. This would have been a play that turned things around.

A-Back Anthony Allen led the Jackets in rushing with 129 yards. He was a monster today, breaking many of the opposing team’s tackles.

The winning play is nominated by the pass from Nesbitt to Demaryius Thomas. This 39 yard throw was a nail biter, as the previous throws were picked off by the Tigers.

With the past completion, a minute remains as Nesbitt tries to chew off time. But is stopped short, resulting in the winning field goal.

The team then huddled up for a prayer, and a word of thanks for a great game.

The game ends with the Jackets cheering with the crowd.
