Roadtrip in Medium Format

I recently caught the Medium Format flu due to my friend Josh Weiss and Melody. If you have been following my blog, you noticed that I tried to play with a Rolleiflex, unfortunately that didn’t turn out well so I had to go out and get another camera. Film is nice, it gives you something to appreciate, lets you concentrate on what you want to take, and teaches you to be patient. Well here are a few photos from my trip that I scanned tonight, and I hope you guys enjoy. This is just a teaser for the images to come! I have a lot more on my digital. Just a note, this film was cross processed probably with C-41 chemicals which I will probably learn to do later. Also I hope to get better at scanning to get sharper images but I am loving my first impressions of Blad, my Hasselblad. First is my first shot on our trip, at the Seattle Airport. Also the Public Market Center.

Lovely photos. My favorites are the Farmers Market and Portland Theatre shots. I too have recently started to shoot film because of this man, Nateventure. What an inspiration. Check out his photo stream — http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_wrath_of_khan/

Anyway, I just got a few rolls back from my local photo lab and they did a terrific job processing and scanning the Provia 100F (RDP III) slides that I shot with my Mamiya M645 1000s.

Regards,
Cal from Burbank.

Melody

LOVE LOVE these :)

Cal – Thank you very much. I am glad you also are picking up film. It is a totally different ball game, not really an instant gratification thing.

Melody – :-)
