Melody and I were off to a long weekend in Chicago, with my plenty of visits, I was ready to entertain her with what Chicago has to offer. First thing was first though, she wanted to go to the Cloudgate, or what she calls it “the bean.” Well I made her shop down Michigan Ave. first to get a slight introduction to the city until we finally made to to cloudgate.
I told her that she should pose in front of the Cloudgate just for memory sake, and this is what we got.
I wanted to show her that Cloudgate was not the only attraction at Millennium park, so I introduced her to the Crown Fountain. This is where you can take a dip and cool off.
After we went to look at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, which is Millennium Park’s amphitheater. The wonderful architecture is the reason why I feel Chicago is one of the United States prettiest cities.
Later that night my uncle was coming back in town so we went to go pick him up. We proceeded to Uno’s after for Melody to finally eat some real Chicago food, the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. We were stuffed so I wanted to go around time to burn off some energy. My uncle suggested that we go close to the aquarium to admire Chicago’s skyline. The Buckingham Fountain was the first stop, greeting us with a show of dancing water
Later, we drove by the Chicago aquarium to find a nice view of the skyline of Chicago, accented by the water of lake Michigan.
The next day, Lincoln Park Zoo was our destination of choice. I had to take advantage due to its admission being free, and of course the zoo hosting not only animals but an amazing garden. We had dinner plans on the Spirit of Chicago, which is one of Chicago’s dinner cruises, and enjoyed Navy Pier’s fireworks spectacle that occurs every Saturday and Wednesday. But prior to that we had to visit Navy Pier. We enjoyed cinnamon roasted almonds and lots of flare.
The last day in Chicago was a must see visit at the Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower. The newly installed “the Ledge” was amazing and certainly frightened Melody. This is a truly amazing experience, probably the closest to human flight.
