I had another wonderful vacation with the Tsai family; the destination this time was Lake Tahoe. We had to drive around 10 hours to get to our final destination of David Walley’s Hot Springs resort. Below is a view of the walk way to the springs, which was located outside. We had to walk through the freezing cold in order to finally get to the nice springs, one time my pants literally froze walking back.

The next day we went snowboarding on the highest peak in the west coast of the USA, Heavenly. I wasn’t really prepared so I was outfitted with jeans and a small jacket. I was frozen by the end of the day and settled for buying gloves and a face mask. The next day we had a wonderful journey on the lake. It was a lunch cruise which provided a soup and salad bar. I took a picture of Melody and Marisa, trying to accent the mountains in the background.

It wasn’t the best time to take pictures of the lake, but I decided that I needed to get some to figure out where I would go if I visited again next time. Here are a few of the shots that I came up with. Not very interesting, but good for memories.

I decided to use the railing as a foreground to the background, I thought the hearts were a nice little touch.

I also was trying to play with some reflections, so I thought this was a good shot that summed up the journey. The cruise ship with the mountains in the background.

Soon, we were approaching the Emerald Bay, a highly photographed spot. I think I would want a different angle next time I go, but liked what I got out of it.

View of some golden light placed on the island that was situated in the middle of the bay. I loved how it glows in front of the dark background.

We were planning on going snowmobiling the next day, but had a few hiccups that day. First of all, we were late for our reservation, but that didn’t stop us from having fun.

We later were searching for a market or store to pass the time. I decided to get some photos of the icicles, that we rarely see in the south and in California.

Another play with the reflection of Melody’s helmet. I wish I had some shots of the destination, but it was freezing, getting dark, and we were cut short by one of the tour members riding incredibly slow. Oh well, next time I visit Tahoe, I know where I have to visit.
