My family, Melody, and I rode on the Taiwan high speed rail, which was a first for me, to Taizhong. I thought it was cool that you could get to such a far place in half or less the time it takes on regular train. Last time we visited the rail was just about to open.
In Taizhong, we walked around the Taizhong park and I found a heart shaped cut out in this tree.
After the park, we went to the Taizhong “night” market which was extremely busy and ate a lot of food. This was one of my brother’s favorite foods, the huge salt and pepper chicken with Melody as my model.
After the market, we had an hour wait so we decided to get our haircut. But my haircut took way longer then usual and thus caused us to miss our train back. It was a hectic scramble back to the station with our taxi running red lights and speeding. Well we caught the next train back.
The following day we went to the Taipei flower market to look at the local plants and novelties. Here was the first picture I took with a couple in the background of the azaleas.
And a random fish tank that I found with the old school floating fish in the tank.
After the market, we decided to try to take my uncle to Taipei 101, but it was such a bad day that we couldn’t go up to the top. On the way there, a wishing tree was found with many wishes for the new year.
We walked around Warner Village and a special night market was situated inside.
After Taipei 101, we went to meet up with some relatives and eat some shanghai food. This restaurant was famous for their chicken soup and this shows the massive amounts of pots making soup for customers.
