On April 9, 2010 the Georgia Tech Biotech quad played host to the fourth annual, TASA night market. TASA, The Taiwanese American Student Association, aims to educate others about Taiwanese culture and traditions. The night market is no exception to this as it allows students to immerse themselves in the food culture of Taiwan. While attending the market students can purchase tickets, which can then be exchanged for food. The market features over twenty tables each containing different dishes for students to sample.
Some notable dishes include SunO, scallion pancakes, and Vietnamese sandwiches.
These delectable dishes provide those new to Taiwanese cuisine with a frame of reference to the more tradition cuisine and a taste of home for others. This event is rife with Taiwanese culture ranging from music to traditional decorations and partners the Georgia Tech TASA chapter with Emory’s to maximize this cultural event’s reach. This event is a wonderful expression of TASA’s outreach to the Georgia Tech community and showcases their mission.
With the amazing food and laid back atmosphere the TASA market is not an event anyone should miss. Make sure to mark your calenders for next year.
