After graduation, I planned a visit to California to see Melody. We were excited about trying to go to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, although knowing that the season was close to its end. Antelope Valley hosts hillsides of the California state flower. We were expecting to see a lot of orange around. Little did we know that it was going to be roughly 50 degrees and overcast out so none of the poppies were blooming. It was quite disappointing to drive out an hour or so to see these flowers just drooping around. Well there is always next year, and we were glad to see the herd of sheep shown below before we got to the reserve.
At the end of the trip, we noticed a little van parked on the side of the road with local honey for sale. Melody knew that her mother loves to put honey in her tea so we decided to make a visit, and a purchase.
