Glacier National Park, is a joint park with Canada. I believe it to be one of the most beautiful and unique out of all the national parks. I didn’t know that the United States housed a Swiss Alps like venue and was truly amazed. Nestled up on the Canadian border in Montana, the current glaciers present are predicted to disappear by the year 2030. We arrived at Two Medicine lake the first day and decided to do a short little hike to some waterfalls. Here is one of the most beautiful falls that I have seen to date.
I was hoping for a calm morning, but 15 mph winds and a super cloudy day didn’t allow for the “ideal” photo. I still think that it came out rather well.
Later that day, I convinced my mom to take an 11 mile hike on the Highland Trail which traverses many adverse terrain. Here is a view from the beginning.
Some mountain goat that we saw on the way down to catch the last bus of the day, which would be leaving in only 5 and a half hours.
More views from the hike are to follow, with the hike presiding on the ridgeline or side of the mountain.
Some more mountain goats grazing.
And the cutest baby goat.
Glacial runoff, or just snow melting.
The crazy terrain we hiked. My mom was fortunate to buy her hiking sticks during our Rocky Mountain trip.
One of my favorite views of the valley with some ice patches in the foreground.
Lake Powell in the background, nestled within the mountain range.
Beautiful avalanche wildflowers blooming after the snow has melted.
Glacial bed still struggling to remain intact.
A morning at St Mary’s Lake. I was hoping for still waters like in the Rockies but the motion shown here is also somewhat unique.
