This was the first time I covered a whole series, which I think sometime is a little redundant. But overall it was good, except for the fact that my car got towed before the final game on Sunday. But I couldn’t miss Joe Torres’ last game either as a head coach, or just the Los Angeles Dodgers head coach. Well it started off standard, getting some of the standard shots so I will give you a different view. Here is Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp trying to avoid a wild pitch.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Chris Young stealing second base on Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Chin-lung Hu.
The stolen base lead to a score by Chris Young.
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Chin-lung Hu throwing out first base.
Another, except first base thrown out by infielder Casey Blake.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp clapping for himself after he hit a home run.
Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Adam LaRoche celebrates with infielder Stephen Drew.
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Ryan Theroit forces Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Brandon Allen.
Seems to me that this is a recurring theme, Matt Kemp jumping away after getting hit by the wild pitch.
I tried to go to the other side of the field to get photos of the relievers. Well just my luck, the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher is left handed, and he has my last name!
Chin-lung Hu signing a kids baseball on the field.
Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Kelly Johnson cannot handle the ball for a routine play.
Photographers are allowed to move around the field, but not on the field during play. We have to walk all around the stands to get from one side to the other. There is also a special spot where you are only allowed to stay for one inning. You have to sign up and go to the basement to reach this area, and I usually don’t have time since I am uploading photos to the wire. Well here is a shot from that angle of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley.
Ryan Theroit with a sacrifice bunt.
Another home run by Matt Kemp, this time congratulated by teammate Andre Ethier.
Great reactions by Matt Kemp after a few strikes.
Love this view of superman Diamondbacks’ Stephen Drew and Dodgers’ Chin-lung Hu.
Chris Young upset, and chewing on his necklace after he struck out.
Adam LaRoche, who is known for hitting some home runs, after a pop fly.
Dodgers’ pitcher Kenley Jansen getting a pat on the back by catcher Rod Barajas.
Joe Torre sitting in the Dugout with Don Mattingly watching from behind.
Andre Ethier upset after a strike out.
I decided to get a different view by shooting above, in the stands. This gives you a wider perspective and a little less busy of a background. It’s harder to get some pictures up here since you are further away from the field, but you can get some nice shots. Los Angeles Dodgers Jamey Carroll forcing out Arizona Diamondbacks Ryan Roberts.
A missed opportunity, but still interesting photo of Arizona Diamondbacks Ryan Roberts and Los Angeles Dodgers Casey Blake.
David Hasslehoff was in the audience to sing “God Bless America.”
And also “Don’t Stop Believin'”
The Dodgers dugout watching the field.
And my friend, with the same last name as me, Hong-Chih Kuo.
After the last game, there were some celebratory shots needed of Joe Torre. Here is Joe Torre posing for the cameras.
He was also given a painting, from I don’t know who.
Before leaving the field, he tried to give all the fans a hand. Only time will tell if we will see Torre again, it’s disappointing that he had to leave now. But with 15 consecutive playoff appearances, this future hall-of-famer will definitely be proud of his accomplishments.
