I have been covering a few Los Angeles Angel’s games a month and was really excited when I heard Albert Pujols was going to join the roster. Unfortunately, it has been one of his worst seasons, but he is still a big media magnet. Well the Angel’s haven’ been able to catch up with the Rangers recently but were able to pull off some good games with the Kansas City Royals. Here are a few shots of the different games I have covered of these two games during this season. Sunglasses and reflections are the best thing about day games, here is a shot of Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas (8) during a break in play.
I decided to get some different shots of the stadium and during the game so I went up to the upper deck to get a few unique angles. It came out wonderfully. Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson (33) warms up on the mound before the first inning.

And one of the other side, Kansas City Royals pitcher Bruce Chen (52) pitches during the first inning.
I have a whole system worked out to make my workflow a little easier during the games as well as allowing me to get a little more creative during the games. I decided to move every single inning, not really hunting for a single shot but going with the flow. After I was at the top of the stadium, I then went down to shot behind home plate. You can get a few good shots on the field, but this is mostly to shoot the pitchers head on. Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson (33) pitches.

Earlier in the season, Trout did not seem as comfortable with his present team, but as the season progressed he was able to loosen up and be part of the team. Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout (27) talks in the dug out.
During the first few innings of a game, the light creates a great rim light on the players and pitchers. I just love getting this lighting before the artificial lights are on and a little flat. Kansas City Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain (6) runs the bases after hitting a home run.
Los Angeles Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick (47) throws to first.
Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols (5) prepares for a hit.

I always hate it when an umpire gets in the way, especially when you have great action at the plate. But sometimes you get some, sometimes you loose some. Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols (5) is tagged out by Kansas City Royals catcher Humberto Quintero (33).

It’s crazy to go back and look at the ball on bat photos. It’s amazing to see how much strain the bat can handle, with it flex a few inches out of its regular formation, without breaking. Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Kendrys Morales (8) hits a single.
Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Albert Pujols (5) reacts after grounding out at bat.

Well, this post shouldn’t be about Pujols, since the Angels have raised a few great All Star players in Mark Trumbo, Mike Trout, and pitchers C.J. Wilson and Jered Weaver. Kansas City Royals second baseman Chris Getz (17) completes a double play against Los Angeles Angels right fielder Torii Hunter (48) to complete the ninth inning.
