A friend of mine, Cu, asked me if I was available in 2014 to shoot some engagement photos for him and his then fiancee. I’m always down to get some good photos, and also to scout locations to shoot. They really wanted to get a few shots in California before they moved back to the South, so I asked where. They decided to get something close to their then home at Crystal Cove. It was literally 10 minutes away from there house and definitely is a chapter in their life. I ended up headed down there with my buddy Luke Walker to scout the location. I opted for the evening, since they also wanted to head to the LACMA to get a few shots around the lamps in Downtown LA as well.

Our first series was really just a reenactment of his proposal, that happened in this very spot! I then proceeded to get the usual assortment.

Luke ended up going home and I headed up to downtown Los Angeles to get a few more shots in one of the most iconic places in LA for couples, the LACMA. It’s really pretty tough to shoot in this area, since the weekends are really packed. You really have to work to get a clean shot!
